A liquid crystal display device and a driving method thereof are provided to prevent an error operation of a shift register by changing at least one of a logic ground voltage and a gate control signal according to a ripple component in a gate-off voltage. A liquid crystal display device includes an LCD panel(108), a gate driver(104), and an error operation preventing portion(118). The gate driver drives a gate line in the LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) panel. The error operation preventing portion includes a capacitor, which is formed between at least one of a logic ground voltage line and a control signal line and a source voltage line. The logic ground voltage line and the control signal line supplies a ground voltage and a control signal to the gate driver, respectively. The source voltage line supplies a gate-off voltage to the gate driver.
