A message transmission method and a mobile terminal for the same are provided to enable a user to conveniently send messages, without memorizing phone numbers or E-mail addresses one by one, by searching the phone book for contact information matched with a specific person's name contained in the contents of a message and transmitting the message using the searched contact address. A mobile terminal comprises a memory(230), a control part(250), and an RF communication part(210). The memory(230) contains the phone book which stores one or more pieces of contact information. In case a user makes out a message, the control part(250) confirms whether the contents of the message contain a phrase matched with specific contact information stored in the phone book. If a phrase matched with specific contact information exists in the contents of the message, the RF communication part(210) transmits the message using the specific contact information.
