An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) monitor for preventing screen noise and a control method thereof are provided to remove errors of wavy noise during a brightness adjustment process, thereby providing more clear LCD screen. In a method for controlling an LCD monitor, the method comprises the following steps of: entering a brightness adjustment mode(S501); adjusting brightness with a certain step value(S503); and automatically changing a contrast step value in proportion to a difference value between a step value of a reference value and a step value of the adjusted brightness if the step value of the adjusted brightness is less than the step value of the reference value(S505).
