The invention relates to a method for producing isotopically labelled secondary metabolic products of fungi or bacteria in a liquid synthetic culture medium. According to said method, the synthesis is carried out by immobilising the fungi or bacteria on an inert carrier, adding a liquid synthetic culture medium in which essentially all of the carbon atoms, nitrogen atoms and/or sulphur atoms are replaced by stable isotopes.
