The backlight unit is positioned in the lower part of the liquid crystal panel assembly and supplies light to the liquid crystal panel assembly. The upper container includes a side wall joined in correspondence with the lower container in the upper part of the liquid crystal panel assembly and an upper side connected to the side wall. A stepped portion(113) is formed in the upper side. The inner portion(I) of the upper side is higher than the outer portion(E) of the upper side connected to the side wall.
