The shank of a powered tool has two locking shoulders (11) on an axial locking end (3), locking slots (5a,5b) each with an axially projected end shoulder (12) on the tool side, and rotational drive slots (6a) tangentially offset in relation to the locking slots and open towards the free end face (4). The end shoulder precedes the axial locking end by a length (L) which comes to at least three times the guide diameter (D) of the tool shank.
