The device (1) has a browngas burner, and a refrigerant circuit with an adsorber or an absorber (3) having a generator (2), a condenser (5) and an evaporator (4). The generator or the absorber has a circuit (8) for heat transfer fluid, where the circuit is provided with a heat source. The heat source is designed as a combustion device (6) for a hydrogen-oxygen-mixture in the form of brown-gas or a thermogenerator for converting the hydrogen-oxygen-mixture into heat. The combustion device is flow-connected with a gas generator (7) for generating the brown-gas.
