A release cylinder is provided to reduce pedal stepping force while minimizing increase in full stroke by increasing only a hydraulic ratio in an interval representing maximum stepping force. A release cylinder comprises a push rod driven by oil pressure from a master cylinder. The release cylinder comprises a first inner diameter section(101) and a second inner diameter section(102) having a diameter larger than that of the first inner diameter section. The push rod comprises a first head section(112), a second head section(111) and a rod section(113). The first head section protrudes from one side of the second head section such that the first head section is inserted into the first inner diameter section. The second head section linearly moves in the second inner diameter section. The rod section is fixed to the second inner diameter section.
