The method involves displaying an indicating assembly on a VDU (3) e.g. navigation display, where the assembly includes an airport map and an aircraft symbol. Data generated by a booth (11) of an airport is received via a data transmission link (7) e.g. datalink, where the data is relative to a taxi track to be followed by the aircraft on the airport. The data is automatically provided under the form of text on another VDU (14) e.g. datalink control and display unit. The data is automatically provided under graphical form on the VDU (3) using a spot illustrating the taxi track. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for assisting ground navigation of an aircraft, comprising a data transmitting unit (2) a system for assisting ground navigation of an aircraft, comprising a ground navigation assisting device.
