A system for providing geographic information is provided to exchange and distribute the huge geographic information efficiently by distributing and utilizing the geographic information even if formats of the geographic information are different each other. An editing client(300) reads/edits the geographic information stored in a database(100) and stores the edited geographic information to the database. An operator solution(200) encodes the geographic information stored in the database according to a geographic information exchange procedure using a predetermined program and outputs the encoded geographic information to other operator solutions(400). The operator solution includes a GML(Geographic Markup Language) module(250). The GML module includes an internal schema analyzer analyzing attribute of an internal schema of the stored geographic information, a schema converter mapping the analyzed attribute of the internal schema to the attribute of a GML application schema, a GML schema definer generating the mapped internal schema as a GML application schema document, an instance separator, an encoder, and a GML document generator. |
