<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side airbag device that generates a desired internal-pressure difference between respective partitioned chambers when an airbag is inflated and developed in an airbag device in which the inside of the airbag is partitioned into a plurality of the partitioned chambers. <P>SOLUTION: The side airbag device 23 is provided with the airbag 27 that is inflated and developed between a body side part of a vehicle and an occupant sitting on the front seat. The airbag 27 is composed so as to partition its inside into a lower partitioned chamber 29 and an upper partitioned chamber 30 while storing an inner bag 31 inside the lower partitioned chamber 29 corresponding to the waist part of the occupant. The inner bag 31 is composed so as to internally arrange a gas injection port 26a of an inflator 26 and to respectively form a first opening part 33, which makes the inside of the inner bag 31 and that of the lower partitioned chamber 29 communicate with each other, and a second opening part 35 that makes the inside of the inner bag 31 and that of the upper partitioned chamber 30 communicate with each other with an opening area smaller than that of the first opening part 33. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
