<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in a conventional multi function printer (MFP) that setting for so-called security print processing must be performed every time, and the setting of security print processing is performed by a printer driver. <P>SOLUTION: A setting state of security print and a "passcode" are received from an external PC2 in advance and stored in correspondence with an IP address of PC2. When an instruction of print processing is received from the PC2, a setting state of security print stored corresponding to the PC2 is decided. When the security print is necessary, input of "passcode" is requested, and the print processing is executed only when the "passcode" agreed with the "passcode" received in advance is input.
