PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automate channel preset in a digital television receiver. SOLUTION: The digital television receiver is provided with a receiving circuit 10 of digital television broadcasting, numerical keys 51, a preset table prepared in a nonvolatile memory 34, and a control circuit 30. When the power is supplied, scanning of all frequency bands of digital television broadcasting is executed, and when the digital television broadcasting is received by a certain channel during the scanning, channel data for receiving the channel is registered in the preset table. When the preset table is not updated even when the scanning finishes, the scanning is repeated. When a numerical key is pressed down in a state in which the scanning has finished, channel data corresponding to the pressed numerical key 51 is extracted among channel data registered in the preset table, and the extracted channel data is set in the receiving circuit 10.
