PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overcurrent protecting element and its manufacturing method for keeping the generation of heat even if an overcurrent continues for a long time and holding an insulating state stably without causing damage or deterioration, while a high molecular macromolecule matrix and an electrode are not exfoliated even if it is left in a high temperature atmosphere for a long time. SOLUTION: The high molecular macromolecule matrix is pinched by bonding a pair of metallic foil, while the high molecular macromolecule matrix contains an elastomer denaturalized by a nonhydrate, a plurality of conductive minute particles, and crystalline resin. As the elastomer denaturalized by nonhydrate, one or more kinds of elastomers are contained composed of an ethylene-alpha olefin-diolefin copolymer, to which a carboxylic acid or a maleic anhydride is added, and/or styrene-butadiene-based copolymers, to which a carboxylic acid or a maleic anhydride is added.
