PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep own vehicle positioning accuracy at a high level to some degree, and also to reduce load for recognizing features in own vehicle positioning system. SOLUTION: An arrangement pattern of a distinguishing feature, in an area where own vehicle is to travel in the future among features on a road whose information is stored in a map data base, for example a feature with a high possibility of appearing for a plurality of kinds of roads corresponding to a target of support control, is specified as a necessary feature to be recognized for correcting own vehicle position (step 150).
