PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for toner which enables to obtain a toner excellent in low-temperature fixability, high-temperature offset resistance and image quality, and to provide a toner. SOLUTION: The resin composition for toners is obtained by reacting a branched polyester having a hydroxyl number of 5-100 with an isocyanate compound having two or more isocyanate groups in one molecule. The resin composition contains an unreacted portion of the branched polyester having a molecular weight not over the peak molecular weight of the branched polyester before the reaction, and when a molecular weight distribution of a tetrahydrofuran-soluble component is measured by gel permeation chromatography, a peak area in a range not over the peak molecular weight of the branched polyester before the reaction is 20-45% of the total peak area.
