PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make efficiently performable a cultivation method covering farm field with a mulching sheet only during dormancy. SOLUTION: A sowing and mulching machine 1 has a sowing device 3 and a mulching device 4 on a machine body 5, and is composed to sow seeds D on a farm field H with the sowing device 3 and to lay with the mulching device a mulching sheet S covering the position sown with the sowing device 3, in connection with advance of the machine body 5. The mulching device 4 comprises a sending out part 15 sending out the mulching sheet S on the farm field surface and a soil packing wheel 7 pressing the mulching sheet to the farm field surface with its circumferential surface. The mulching sheet S is formed to be narrow width so that the sheet S comprises a covering part Sc positioned at the cross directional center and covering the sown position and the vicinity thereof and pressed down parts Se adjacent to each of the both sides of the covering part Sc. The circumferential surface of the soil packing wheel 7 has comparatively larger diameter at the position contacting to the pressed down parts Se than that of at the position contacting to the covering part Sc.
