PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM SUBSTRATE

<p>This invention provides a method for manufacturing an optical recording medium substrate formed of a transesterification-type polycarbonate resin, which method can suppress a failure of coating in providing a recording layer provided on the substrate, especially in providing a dye layer as a recording layer in a write-once read-many optical disk, and a method for manufacturing a write-once read-many optical disk. The method for manufacturing an optical recording medium substrate comprises bringing a resin molded product for an optical recording medium substrate brought into contact with plus ions and minus ions generated by an ion generator comprising an electrode needle part for alternately generating plus ions and minus ions periodically. The resin molded product has been produced by molding an aromatic polycarbonate resin having a viscosity average molecular weight of not more than 25000 produced by transesterification of an aromatic dihydroxy compound with a carbonic acid diester. The method for manufacturing an optical recording medium comprises an information recording layer on the optical recording medium substrate.</p>
