PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring camera apparatus for preventing an object that is forced out of a mask region and cannot be detected from being detected erroneously even if the object moves. SOLUTION: When it is detected that the object moves by not less than a fixed number of times during fixed time in the mask region MA, an image processing section 40 of an image sensor 4 expands the area of the mask region MA until the object moves for less than a fixed number of times during the fixed time, thus preventing the object from forcing out of the mask region MA even if the area of the mask region MA increases due to the movement of a tree Tr that is an object in the mask region MA owing to wind, or the like, and hence hardly preventing a moving object (an invader) from being detected by the image sensor 4 erroneously even if the tree in the mask region MA is moved by wind, or the like.
