PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To vary a phase amount and amplitude of excitation power to be supplied to each antenna element without using an active element. SOLUTION: This array antenna has 2<SP>m</SP>(m≥2) antenna elements and a control circuit which controls the phase and the amplitude of the excitation power to be supplied to each antenna element, wherein the control circuit has (2<SP>m</SP>-1) basic circuits connected in an m-step tournament form, each basic circuit has: a division variable phase shifter which varies the phase amount of the excitation power input from an input terminal and outputs first excitation power and second excitation power having predetermined phase difference; a hybrid circuit in which output voltages between output terminals have phase difference of 90°with each other and the first excitation power and the second excitation power output from the division variable shifter are input in a first terminal and a fourth terminal, respectively; a first variable phase shifter which varies the phase amount of the excitation power output from a second terminal of the hybrid circuit to output it from a first output terminal; and a second variable phase shifter which varies the phase amount of the excitation power output from a third terminal of the hybrid circuit and outputs it from the second output terminal.
