PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce meter reader's working load of meter reading work, and to accurately acquire the power consumption data of a meter. SOLUTION: The metering system is provided with the meter, capable of metering the consumption of power used by a consumer out of power supplied from a supplier and having a transmission means for transmitting power consumption data, indicating consumption of power by a visible light transmission system and a meter-reading terminal apparatus, having a receiving means capable of receiving the power consumption data transmitted by the transmission means within the range of access of visible light.
