PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain display image quality excellent and to decrease transfer data between terminals in a remote operation system because reduction of the transfer data generally causes deterioration in image quality. SOLUTION: The above problem can be solved by changing a processing method of data in accordance with the number of colors of a bit map and a communication speed. The number of colors in use is calculated from the bit map, an appropriate compression method is used in accordance with the number of colors, and image is compressed. The compression method of the image is optimized so that degradation of the image quality which looks to a user is suppressed depending upon the communication speed between the terminals of the remote operation system.
