PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophoresis display apparatus 100 capable of performing color image display of higher definition than that of an image display device wherein colored layers of RGB three primary colors are disposed in three display units adjacent to each other. SOLUTION: The RGB three primary colors and additive mixtures thereof are displayed by using two display units 20A and 20B adjacent to each other. A colored layer (R) 10 and a colored layer (G) 11 are disposed in the display unit 20A. A colored layer (B) 12 and a colored layer (W) 13 are disposed in the display unit 20B. Patterns of voltage and application time of voltage signals applied to a display electrode 1 are made different to change a covering state of charged particles 8 on the display electrode 1.
