Anthrapyridone Compound, Water-Based Magenta Ink Composition, And Method of Ink-Jet Recording

An object of the present invention is to provide a water-based magenta ink composition which has a hue and clarity suitable for ink-jet recording and gives prints excellent in fastnesses such as an ozone resistance and a light resistance. The ink composition comprises as its coloring matter component a water-based magenta composition containing anthrapyridone compound represented by the formula (1): wherein R represents hydrogen atom or methyl group; X represents phenyl group, phenoxy group or halogen atom; and n is an integer of 1 to 4, or a salt thereof.
