<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side-view LED device by which a light doesn't leak out through a sidewall of a cup made of resin, and to provide a method of manufacturing such a side-view LED device. <P>SOLUTION: According to the side-view LED device, shading metal plates 5a, 5b are arranged at both sidewalls of the cup made of resin obtained by carrying out an insertion mold processing to a metal lead frame.
