PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convert contents of an optical disk exclusive for reproduction for over-the-counter sale into the one for recording type optical disk media to be utilized for download distribution. SOLUTION: An authoring device 10 converts contents information in a DVD-video form read from DVD package media (DVD-ROM)1' into a VR form, encrypts the obtained contents information C based on content key information Kc and writes the encrypted contents information Enc (Kc, C) and additional information d in recording type DVD media 3. A distribution device 30 writes the encrypted contents information and the additional information read from the recording type DVD media 3 in an encrypted contents storage part 32. Thus, the download distribution of the encrypted contents information and the additional information become possible based on a download request in the distribution device.
