PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein a solid electrolytic capacitor has an element having a lead for negative electrodes in a linear or oblong thin-plate shape, a positive electrode terminal, and a negative electrode terminal; the positive electrode terminal has a rising section connected to the lead for positive electrodes or a rising section of a pillow; a lead root for positive electrodes in an element having the lead for positive electrodes causes an oxide film to deteriorate due to mechanical stress for increasing LC easily, when the lead for positive electrodes is connected to the rising section by resistance welding; the longitudinal direction of the element is restricted when the separation distance between the rising wall on the side of the capacitor element and the element in the rising section of the positive electrode terminal, or that of the pillow is increased more than necessary, thus causing capacity or a formation voltage to become deficient and hence causing fraction defective to increase. SOLUTION: In the solid electrolytic capacitor; the separation distance between the rising wall of the side of the capacitor element and the capacitor element is not less than half the diameter of the lead for positive electrodes or a plate thickness, and is not more than the double of the diameter of the lead for positive electrodes or the plate thickness.
