PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a field emission type image display device capable of stably maintaining a high vacuum state of an electron emission region and a non-evaporating type getter applicable to the display device. SOLUTION: The field emission type image display device includes a cathode substrate 110 as well as an anode substrate 120 fitted in opposition, electron emission sources 200 arrayed in a lattice state on the cathode substrate 110, a phosphor 500 fitted on the anode substrate 120, a non-evaporating getter for absorbing gas in the vacuum space formed between the cathode substrate 110 and the anode substrate 120, and photocatalyst fitted in the vacuum space capable of decomposing an organic compound or a polymer compound with irradiation of light containing ultraviolet rays. The photocatalyst is provided at an outer periphery of a display area where the electron emission sources 200 are arrayed on a plane parallel with main surfaces of the cathode substrate 110 and the anode substrate 120.
