PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a work replicating device which can efficiently perform a cover replicating operation, eliminate the unstableness of finished product quality and appearance, and does not generate a gap between a replicated cover and the spine of the work, and a work replicating method. SOLUTION: The work replicating device 100 comprises the following components: (1) a suction/opening mechanism 10 which sucks the bottom cover 3 of the doubled work 1 and opens the cover 3, (2) a nozzle 20 which blows air to an interstice between the bottom cover 3 of the work 1 and the other part, (3) a knife folding mechanism 30 which doubles the work 1 reversely to the initial doubling state by thrusting the fold part 2 of the opened work 1 starting with its spine side, (4) a pressing bar 40 which presses the opened work 1 from above, (5) a press mechanism 50 which keeps the work 1 doubled reversely as it is permanently by applying pressure, (6) an ascendable pressing roller 70 which presses the opened work 1 from above, etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
