PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a pneumatic tire constituted so as to prevent the occurrence of the blister caused by an air sump even in a case that a thermoplastic resin film is used as an air impermeable layer, and especially a manufacturing method suitable for a heavy load pneumatic tire. SOLUTION: A molding drum 20 is covered with a thermoplastic resin film 6 and an unvulcanized tie rubber sheet 7 is wound around the thermoplastic resin film 6. After the winding start end and winding finish end of the tie rubber sheet 7 are spliced, a carcass layer is wound around the tie rubber sheet 7 to manufacture the pneumatic tire. In this manufacturing method of the pneumatic tire, the splice of the tie rubber sheet 7 is set to butt splice and an unvulcanized auxiliary rubber sheet 9 is interposed between the tie rubber sheet 7 and the thermoplastic resin film 6 along the joint 7c of the butt splice.
