A multi-path characteristic estimation method estimates a line multi-path characteristic by receiving an N-chip multi-path characteristic measurement signal, wherein the time length of each chip is t. The method includes an oversampling step which performs sampling M times (M is a natural number not smaller than 2) for each chip of the received multi-path characteristic measurement signal and discrete filtering step which performs a discrete filtering process by NM-degree filter. The multi-path measurement signal oversampled in the oversampling step is subjected to the filtering process by the discrete filtering step, thereby estimating the line multi-path characteristic.
