A system (100) and method (300, 400) for network pairing with two or more wireless communication devices (102, 108), in which each device includes at least two wireless transceivers (202, 204). For each device (102, 108), one wireless transceiver (204) has indirect communication with the other communication device via a first connection (106, 112), and another wireless transceiver (202) that is capable of direct communication with the other communication device via a second connection (114) based on an ad hoc protocol. The wireless transceivers (202) of the wireless communication devices exchange network address information needed for paired communication between the devices through the first connection (106, 112), thus minimizing the need to search and discovery for paired communication for the second connection (114).
