PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To notify a user of presence/absence of contents which are not viewed or listened without applying power to a content recording and reproducing device and a monitor connected to the content recording and reproducing device. SOLUTION: After confirming that recording processing of the contents to a recording medium is in execution (S11: YES) and a lamp is turned off (S14: YES), the lamp is blinked (S15). When reproduction processing of the recorded contents is not performed until fixed time passes from time when the recording processing to the recording medium is started and the contents which are not viewed or listened remain (S17, S19, S20), the lamp is always lit (S18).
