SOCKET FOR MEMORY CARD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket for a memory card with a contactless communication function that has a smaller and simpler structure and can suppress an increase in manufacturing costs.

SOLUTION: The memory card socket 1 comprises a case 2 forming a card receptacle part 1a in which a thin memory card MC having a coil antenna 20 can be removably received. A cover shell 4 of the case 2 is at least partly made of a looped metal conductor, which functions as a secondary antenna 10 for the antenna 20 of the memory card MC.
