PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording device capable of preventing loss of image data, even when a remaining recordable amount is lost in a recording medium during recording image data. SOLUTION: A digital camera includes a detachable SD card 130. When the remaining recordable amount for recording the image data on the SD card 130 is lost, the image data is preserved in a memory 126 provided in the digital camera. The memory 126 includes a refresh circuit 128, enabling continued retention of the image data by the operation in a self-refresh mode, while suppressing power consumption even when the power of the digital camera is switched off.
