PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction port body capable of effectively performing the operation of raking up dust at the edge of a wall, and a vacuum cleaner provided with the same. SOLUTION: A control means 26 which receives moving direction signals controls the drive of a driving motor 20 on the basis of the moving direction signals from a moving direction detection means 24 so as to rotate a rotary cleaning body 17 forward when a suction port main body 14 is moved forward and reversely rotate the rotary cleaning body 17 when the suction port main body 14 is moved backward. Also, when the moving direction signals are not output from the moving direction detection means 24 for prescribed time or longer, the control means 26 performs control of alternately repeating the forward rotation and reverse rotation of the driving motor 20 to alternately repeat the forward rotation and reverse rotation of the rotary cleaning body 17.
