PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reclining device that is excellent in responsibility in unlocking operation. SOLUTION: An energizing means which energizes in an engaging direction of engaging parts (the outer teeth 141 and 151 of poles 140 and 150) with a part to be engaged (an inner tooth 133) is composed of: first energizing means (spiral springs 191 and 195) for energizing an engaging/disengaging part in the engaging direction of the engaging parts with the part to be engaged; and a second energizing means (a spiral springs 211) for energizing an operation part in a direction opposite to the engaging direction of the engaging parts with the part to be engaged.
