<p>This invention provides a polishing roll that can reduce the occurrence of consumption waste produced upon polishing of an object having a small throughhole such as a printed wiring board with a throughhole and can reduce clogging of the hole with consumption waste. The polishing roll (50) comprises a base material formed of an nonwoven fabric (12) formed by three-dimensionarily crossing synthetic fibers (14) having a fiber diameter of 10 µm to 36 µm and bonding cross points among the synthetic fibers (14) with a binder resin (16). The nonwoven fabric (12) is fixed with a synthetic resin-based adhesive (20) into which abrasive grains (18) have been dispersed and mixed. The nonwoven polishing material (10) is shaped into a rectangular form, for example, by cutting, is fixed by compressing, and is then integrally provided on the outer periphery surface of a core material (52) with a synthetic resin.</p>
