Disclosed are a smart chip (1) and an information processing method thereof. The smart chip (1) includes a MCU (2) and an information processing circuit (3), wherein the MCU (2) including a storage unit (20) and communicating with an image forming apparatus through the information processing circuit (3). The storage unit (20) includes a first memory area (201) to store a set of nonzero amount data which is not overwritable, a second memory area (202) to store an amount data which is updated by the image forming apparatus and a token bit (203) to control the image forming apparatus to read data from the first memory area (201) or the second memory area (202). The information processing method of the smart chip (1) includes steps as follows: judge whether the type of the instruction from image forming apparatus is reading or writing at first; if it is reading, send data according to the state of token bit (203); if it is writing, change the state of token bit (203) according to the content of the instruction. The smart chip (1) and the information processing method thereof according to the present invention make the smart chip can be used repeatedly by providing two memory areas and using a token bit to control reading of data in the memory areas.
