PROCESS FOR PRODUCING (Z)-1-PHENYL-1-(N,N-DIETHYLAMINOCARBONYL)-2-PHTHALIMIDOMETHYLCYCLOPROPANE

A process for producing (Z)-1-phenyl-1-(N,N-diethyl-aminocarbonyl)-2-phthalimidomethylcyclopropane which comprises reacting (Z)-1-phenyl-1-(N, N-diethylamino-carbonyl)-2-hydroxymethylcyclopropane with an orthoester and a BrDnsted acid and then reacting the reaction product with a phthalimidizing agent. Also provided is a process for producing (Z)-1-phenyl-1-(N,N-diethylaminocarbonyl)-2-aminomethyl-cyclopropane hydrochloride via that process.
