<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlighting device and a backlight control method which are capable of stably making up for a change of brightness and colors of an LED serving as a light source due to its temperature change using a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: The backlighting device detects a relative brightness by comparing the output values of a color sensor 5 for LEDs which are driven by a prescribed current volume excluding a red LED with the initial state-output values of the color sensor 5 of the LEDs, and the control target values of the red, green, and blue LED are set on the basis of the relative brightness. Moreover, a relation is previously measured between the relative brightness and the control target value. A control device 17 interrupts feedback control once; enables various kinds of light sources (LEDs) to emit light with a previously set current value; sets the brightness control target values of the LEDs on the basis of the emission brightness which is detected by the color sensor 5 and possessed by, at least, one of the LEDs; and then resumes the feedback control. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
