PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact self-priming pump having a longer life. SOLUTION: Between a first partition body and a motor case, a second partition body 17 is provided to form the side wall of a swirling chamber. The second partition body 17 has a cylindrical portion 17B to be fitted to the inner wall of a seal device storage chamber with water tightness. A seal device has a seal fixing member fitted and held onto a mounting recessed portion of a partition wall in the seal device storage chamber, a seal case 23 mounted on the hollow shaft body of a pump runner protruded from the center opening of the second partition body 17 to the seal device storage chamber, and a seal movable member stored in the seal case 23. A ceramic body 31 provided on the seal movable member is thrust against a carbon body 29 provided on the seal fixing member to form a sealing face F. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
