<p>Provided are an automatic analyzer (1) having dispensing mechanisms (6, 7) and analyzing a reaction liquid where a body to be examined and a reagent that are dispensed by the dispensing mechanisms are made to react, and a method of determining a dispensing failure of the dispensing mechanisms. The dispensing mechanisms (6, 7) discharge a cleaning liquid to clean the dispensing nozzles (6b, 7b), which are connected to dispensing piping filled with the cleaning liquid, after a liquid sample containing the body to be examined or the reagent is dispensed by the dispensing nozzles (6b, 7b). The automatic analyzer (1) has sensors (74, 75) for detecting the amount of discharge of the cleaning liquid discharged from the dispensing nozzles and also has a determination and processing section (10b) for determining whether the cleaning liquid discharge amount detected by the sensor exceeds a predetermined value that is less than a preset discharge amount of the cleaning liquid and, if the amount is not more than the predetermined value, determines that there is a dispensing failure.</p> |
