A food supplement composition comprising extracts of medicinal herbs is provided to inhibit migration to inner membrane and overproliferation of vascular smooth muscle cells, which are induced by platelet derived growth factor(PDGF) and cause arteriosclerosis, without side effects. A food supplement composition for preventing and treating arteriosclerosis comprises 0.0001-50 wt.% of the extracts of medicinal herbs including Atractylodis Rhizoma Alba, Gastrodia elata, Aurantii nobilis pericarpium, Poria cocos, Crataegus and Siegesbeckia glabrescens Makino which are prepared by extracting the medicinal herbs by water, C1-C5 lower alcohol or organic solvent selected from acetone, chloroform, methylene chloride, ether, ethylacetate and hexane, wherein the daily dosage of medicinal herb extracts is 0.001-300 mg/kg and the food supplement composition is formulated as tablet, granule, drink or powder.
