PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer belt cleaning device constituted so that a flicker member uniformly bites into the entire brush of a cleaning brush roller so as to improve cleaning performance by the entire brush, to restrain the increase of brush driving torque and further to achieve the miniaturization and the reduction of cost of the device. SOLUTION: The transfer belt cleaning device for cleaning the surface of a transfer belt is equipped with: a cleaning blade and the cleaning brush roller 87 arranged to abut on the surface of the transfer belt; and the flicker member 30 arranged to abut on the cleaning brush roller. A range where the flicker member abuts on the cleaning brush roller is narrower than a maximum image forming area, and also nearly aligned with the forming position of a correction pattern 16 for density control or alignment control or the like formed on the transfer belt 60.
