PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control having no gaps in an operation face providing easy cleaning and waterproofness, and also having good operability providing input by one operation. SOLUTION: The operation face is substantially vertical, and in a switch, an electrostatic switch is used to input operation signals by change of capacitance by providing electrodes 13, 14 of the electrostatic switch in a rear side of an operation panel 12. A time T from change of the capacitance of the electrostatic switch to return to its original state is measured to judge whether an input is valid. If the time T is within a predetermined time, it is judged that the input is a normal operation of a person having touched and let go of the electrostatic switch, and if it is more than the predetermined time, it is judged that it is not an operation by a person to prevent erroneous input.
