PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shutter of a unit section type or a multi-section type excellent in heat insulation performance. SOLUTION: An articulated large opening shutter 10 is provided with a large number of heat insulating windowpanes 14 supported by a plurality of heat-conductive metallic members 16, 18 disposed in vertical areas and horizontal areas between the adjacent windowpanes. A horizontal frame member comprises a recessed peripheral end gap 13 and a female heat insulation band 381 and a male heat insulation band 281 fitted in the opened recessed peripheral end gap or a heat insulation packed beam for heat insulating the horizontal area when the shutter is closed. The vertical frame members constitute a substantially surrounded space 26, and a self-sustaining heat insulation band 27 formed in advance is inserted in the space to insulate the vertical areas.
