PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water closet which can almost uniformly flush a bowl section without reference to portions by making a liquid spread throughout a liquid passage, even if the water closet is installed in the state of being somewhat inclined with respect to a horizontal plane. SOLUTION: A U-shaped cross-section rim portion 12 is provided in the water closet 1 in such a manner as to surround the bowl portion 10. A bottom surface 22 of the rim portion 12 is inclined downward toward the inside from the outside with respect to the bowl portion 10. Additionally, an up-grade is imparted to a section of the bottom surface 22 from an upstream side in the flow direction of water, flowing through the rim portion 12, to an intermediate portion C1, and a down-grade is imparted to a section of the bottom surface 22 from the intermediate portion C1 to a terminal end portion.
