PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier for reducing a carrying load on a flatland and in climbing stairs when a person carries a baggage. SOLUTION: The carrier is equipped with a loading carrier body 5, wheels 6, 7 mounted to the load carrier body 5, and motors 13, 14 which detect the rotational speed of the wheel and drive the wheel at a constant speed by the detection signal. When ascending a step, an assist force for ascending is obtained by rotating the wheel in the one direction so as to output an upward force by pushing the wheel to the step surface. When descending the step, the assist force for reducing a descending force is obtained by rotating the wheel to the other direction so as to output the upward force by pushing the wheel to the step surface.
