PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane module with reduced disconnection and its assembly method. SOLUTION: In the membrane module described in claim 1, a membrane bundle properly bundled before housing in a case housing satisfies the following expression (I): an outer diameter of the membrane bundle≤1.3×a diameter of one hollow fiber membrane×the number of the hollow fiber membranes standing on the diameter part of the membrane bundle in a compact model.
